President of the Republic Abd Al Fattah Al Sisi issued a decree on appointing Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman Abu Zeid as Aswan university president till reaching pensionable age.
It should be noted that in a previous time Prof. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar, minister of higher education and scientific research, announced that Prof. Ayman Othman will continue as the acting president till selecting a university president.
For his part, Prof. Ayman Othman expressed thanks and appreciation for President Sisi and Prof. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar for restoring confidence by appointing him as Aswan university president.
Prof. Ayman Othman was appointed as Aswan university vice president for graduate studies and scientific research for 4 years based on a ministerial decree issued on 28th March 2021 for 2017.
Prof. Othman held several administrative and leading positions in Aswan university starting from chairman of civil engineering department in the faculty of engineering, next the vice dean of graduate studies and research, then the faculty dean for 2 consecutive terms from 2011 to 2017, then Aswan university vice president of graduate studies and research, last the acting university president and finally the university president till reaching pensionable age.
