Prof.Ahmed Ghallab Mohmed-Aswan University President and MG. Said Hijazi-Vice of the Governor opened the center of special needs for presenting a lot of services for the handicapped students inside the university.
In attendance of prof. Ayman Osthman-Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and a number of the deans of faculties and academic staffs in the university in addition to the representatives of both the office of the special needs in the Ministry of Youth & Sport, and Department of the Cultural Enable for the Special Needs in Aswan and a group of the handicapped and their families.
Ghallab declared the new center will contribute in presenting the supporting and help for all handicapped students and integrate them with their colleagues at the university; where this center is established in the headquarter of the university in New Aswan to near from the handicapped students that are studied in the theoretical faculties.
He explained this is center is directly related to the university administration and includes a number of computers that have talking programs for the blind and the center will organize several training courses during the next period and the events relate to the handicapped students.
He pointed to the initiative of ”live Positively” that is launched by Faculty of Archaeology, Islamic Department for discovering their talents and investing their great energies to the best, also the university witnessed the opening of the Art gallery of the handicapped which includes their distinguished artistic works.
Dr. Ahdab Mohammed Hosni – Coordinator of the initiative “live positively” added this initiative aims to implement the scientific integration by training the students on how to deal with their handicapped colleagues and form a distinctive team to organize sports, social and entertainments programs for handicapped students.
