Under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the council of graduate studies and research No. 67 was held headed by the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman in the presence of the faculties vice deans of graduate studies, the graduate studies administrations managers, the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport, Aswan branch manager. The preparations for The International Conference on Innovative Trends in Computer Engineering that is going to be held on Feb. 2018 were handled during the meeting. Prof. Ghallab declared that Aswan university is keen on hosting the educational and touristic conferences and that the International Conference on Innovative Trends in Computer Engineering will include the papers that will be disseminated from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), he added that the conference provides a forum to exchange experiences and promote new trends in the fields of computer engineering, it is considered the first of its kind in Upper Egypt and the first to be organized by the faculty of engineering, Aswan university. The conference is supposed to be held on 19th – 21st Feb. 2018 directly after the phenomenon of Solar Alignment in Abu Simbel on 22nd of Feb. 2018 under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohammed in cooperation with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority and the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate headed by the honorary presidents Prof . Yousry Al-Gamal – the professor of computer engineering at the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport -, the former minister of education and Prof. George Qareibs of the University of Minnesota, USA. In the same context, the conference has received more than 90 papers from 220 researchers among whom 5 foreigners. The head of the conference Prof. Moustafa Ibrahim said that the technical committee of the conference is consisted of computer engineering professors from all over the world, it is sponsored by the Egyptian and international sectors of the  Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
