Under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the Portuguese language of the faculty of Al-Alsun, Aswan university has organized a workshop on the visit of Pedro II of Brazil to Egypt in the 19th century. Among the participants in the workshop are the chairman of the Portuguese language Dr. Maged Al Gebaly, Dr. Leilany Korea – the professor of literature and history in the Federal University of Santa Maria-, Aswan university vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman, the vice president of community service and environmental development Prof. Ahmed Sayed Khalil in addition to the dean of the faculty of Al-Alsun Prof. Ihsan Abd Al-Qudous.  In a statement to the press today, Dr. Maged Al-Gebaly said that the aim of holding such a workshop is to do a research on the Brazilian Emperor’s visit  to Egypt and particularly to Aswan  in the 19th century and drawing a map of the places he had visited so as to attract the Brazilian tourists who are passionate about learning about the places that the Brazilian emperor had visited. Some pictures of Egypt and Aswan in the period from (1871-1877) and an analytic presentation of the trip circumstances and its news in the newspapers then was introduced during the workshop .
