Today, Monday, Aswan University Council No.100 has been held heading by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President, in the attendance of Major General/ Ashraf Attia-Aswan Governor Dr.Ayman Osman-Vice University President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Magdy Muhammad Ali – Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of the deans of the fac7ulties, and Dr. Ahmad Ghallab – University Presiden inaugurated the work of the Council was by welcoming Major General / Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan thanked him on behalf of the council of the university for his entire support for Aswan University and his constructive and fruitful effects in serving Aswan citizen.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President confirmed through the council the importance of ending the medical and health projects of university hospitals where Aswan University Hospital witnesses developing in the various departments , that makes it a destination for all Aswan Governorate patients and the patients of Southern Upper Egypt to receive the treatment service through works to rehabilitation and raise the efficiency of doctors and medical experiences.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added new buildings have been constructed such as Internal Medicine and Children Hospital with the capacity of 150 beds, and includes dialysis unit that its works have been done with the percent of 85%from the size of works that gives a big boom for its entering in the service soon, and so the medical and health system are being developed in the university hospitals.
Work is also underway in the building of emergency hospital that includes 4 operation rooms, intensive care room, sterilization unit, restaurant, x-ray unit, and x-ray laboratories on the modernist level. Prof. Ahmed Ghallab explained that it’s ongoing to rehabilitation and raise the efficiency of the departments of Aswan University Hospital such as: emergency, Urology department, Internal Medicine department, receiving department, bones department, and a comprehensive development would be done for the gas network, warning, mechanics work, and normal works from finishes with the completing of the preparations of the central restaurant that includes 2 food rooms and central laundry.
The council discussed the plan of the university to organize the educational operation in the various faculties with applying the precautionary measures in the light of confronting the emerging coronavirus as keenness of the safety of students, academic staff and their assistants and all the university employees. As well as the council approved the cooperation protocol with The Ministry of Social Solidarity to establish Social Solidarity Unit in the University to serve students. The Council approved Nomination of Prof. Kamal Abu Al-Majd- Emeritus Professor, Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, for the State Appreciation Award for Basic Sciences for the academiv year (2021) and Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Abdel-Dayem – Professor of Grammar, Morphology and Presentation to get the Appreciation Prize of the State in the arts for the academic year 2020/2021 . As well as the council approved creating joint technical diploma degree for training and developing the Egyptian engineers as a basic outcome for the European Participation Unit ERAFMUS that is supported by the European Unit and the Council approved on employing a number of academic staff and their assistants jobs ( Associate Professor-Assistant Professor).
